“French Racing Bulls driver, Isack Hadjar, was disappointed with his 11th place finish at the Miami Grand Prix, falling just short of the top 10 and the points by less than two-tenths.

Isack Hadjar (11th, Racing Bulls) speaking to Canal+: “It’s a shame. Looking back at my relay, I was really struggling with the car. There were two or three mistakes and on the relay, there’s a good second to be gained, so I’m a bit annoyed with myself but I think Yuki Tsunoda also made mistakes. It was complicated. We lost everything in the first relay, at the restart of the first virtual safety car. I restarted with a bit too much gap to those in front and I was having problems with the brakes. When Lewis Hamilton overtook me, I went straight on, dirtied my tyres and fell behind the leading group.

(On his battle with Lewis Hamilton) It’s frustrating because I want to have a good battle with him, but I couldn’t brake as I wanted, so I was struggling. And in the end, I lost time and made him lose time, so it’s a bit rubbish.”

Esteban Ocon

“We will continue to push and have more performance for the next race knowing that the team has a plan to improve the car”

Esteban Ocon (12th, Haas): “We lacked performance. We weren’t as fast as the cars in front, we got left behind. The car felt pretty good but we just lacked performance. We didn’t get lucky, we missed our stop by not much (during the safety car) and didn’t gain time with that. And at the start, we lost because I chose the wrong side with Norris, who had to decelerate after turn 3. And we lost a place to Tsunoda. All of this means we’re outside the points. We will continue to push and have more performance for the next race knowing that the team has a plan to improve the car.

(On his battle with Lewis Hamilton) Normally, I never defend. I knew he was faster than us and that he would end up in front. But I was tired of being passive. We didn’t have the speed, sure, but he was going to stay behind for a few laps. (Laughs.) So, we managed to keep Lewis behind for five or six laps. It was a good battle.”
