Sauber heads to Spa-Francorchamps with confidence for the final double race weekend before the summer break. Following a series of encouraging results, culminating in Nico Hülkenberg’s sensational podium finish at Silverstone, there is a growing belief within the team that there is more to come.
Team boss Jonathan Wheatley emphasizes the impact of the recent form: “Silverstone was a special moment for everyone. The short break afterwards gave us the chance to enjoy it, but more importantly: the results of the past few weeks have boosted the confidence within the entire team. We now know that we can compete. If we maintain the line of operational consistency and attention to detail, we can score again.”
Hülkenberg is also looking forward to the weekend on the legendary Belgian asphalt: “Silverstone was unforgettable, that feeling will linger for a while. But now we are fully focused on Spa. Because it’s a sprint weekend, it will be busy days for us. But if we continue to work as focused as in the past weeks, we can again compete for points.”
