In addition to team boss Christian Horner, several confidants at Red Bull have also been relieved of their duties. It was announced on Wednesday morning that Horner, after a service period of twenty years, must leave the racing team from Milton Keynes, partly as a result of the ongoing disappointing performances of Max Verstappen‘s team.
In addition to Horner, Paul Smith has also been relieved of his duties as director of communication and social media for Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Technology. There has been internal criticism of Smith (pictured with Horner) for some time, including for the unfortunate way he handled the scandal surrounding Horner last year when the latter was accused of sexual misconduct.
Furthermore, Oliver Hughes has resigned from his position as head of marketing and commercial affairs. Hughes had been working at Red Bull for over eight years.
