Christian Horner denies that there is a crisis at Red Bull. The team boss explains that the meeting after the GP Bahrain was not a crisis meeting at all, but simply a discussion about the race with the engineers. According to Horner, Red Bull knows what the problems are, and the team will come up with solutions in the upcoming races.

With multiple issues with the RB21 during the Grand Prix weekend in Bahrain, Red Bull held a meeting immediately after the race. Many experts in the paddock labeled the gathering, which included Christian Horner, advisor Helmut Marko, race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase, and technical director Pierre Waché, as a crisis meeting. Horner disagrees with this characterization.

“When you sit down with your engineer and discuss the race, I wouldn’t label that as a crisis meeting. We have discussions like this quite often,” Horner calmly tells Sky Sports F1 in Saudi Arabia. “The supposed crisis meeting would have been the meeting after the race in Bahrain, but we were just sitting together and discussing these things in a logical manner. There are always engineering solutions for engineering problems.”

No Crisis

The team boss denies that there is currently a crisis within Red Bull. “There is no crisis,” Horner continues. “We are not where we would like to be, and we have some issues with the car that we are working hard on. We understand what the problems are, and we are bringing multiple upgrades to the upcoming races to address them.”

According to the Brit, the development of the cars by the other teams has resulted in the entire field driving closely together, meaning even the smallest issues can hinder a good result. “The advantage of stable regulations like these is that they converge, all teams are doing very well now,” says Horner. “All teams, especially the top teams, have grown closer together. There are no bad teams in Formula 1.”
