Former Formula 1 driver Rubens Barrichello has no doubt that Lewis Hamilton will still win races with Ferrari. The seven-time world champion reflects on a challenging first half of the season with the Scuderia. Hamilton has yet to secure a podium finish and declared during the last race weekend before the summer break that he feels ‘useless’ in the SF-25. However, Barrichello remains confident in a positive outcome.

After Hamilton only qualified twelfth for the Hungarian GP, he told the media that Ferrari might be better off looking for a new driver. “It’s always my fault,” he lamented dejectedly. “I’m just useless. The team has no problems, as the other car is on pole,” he referred to teammate Charles Leclerc. His statements encapsulate a difficult first half of the season, in which Hamilton only managed to win one sprint race and has yet to appear on the podium in the regular Grands Prix.

Former driver Rubens Barrichello, who drove for Ferrari between 2000 and 2005, however, believes that Hamilton can still win races. “He is a top driver who deserves everything he has achieved in the past,” the Brazilian told Mirror Sport. “It’s not as if he has forgotten how to drive.” Barrichello added that he is convinced that Hamilton can achieve future successes with Ferrari, provided the Italians bring a strong car to the grid in 2026.
