F1 Takes Over New York! Just a day after the GP Canada, several drivers flew to the American city for the film premiere of F1: The Movie. Among those present at the event on Monday evening were Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Yuki Tsunoda, and the Hollywood film’s producer, Lewis Hamilton. The drivers were picked up in a special plane in Montreal, so the fun started early.
F1: The Movie is about former F1 driver Sonny Hayes, played by Brad Pitt, who returns to the premier class as a teammate of rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) for the fictional APXGP team. Naturally, the stars of the film were also present. The premiere took place on Times Square, right in the heart of New York City. For the special occasion, several F1 cars were parked on the famous square.
Verstappen Absent
The drivers had already had the opportunity to watch the film themselves in Monaco, but that didn’t stop the majority of the grid from also traveling to The Big Apple. Notably absent were Max Verstappen, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.
