After the Belgian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton took responsibility for his performance. The seven-time world champion had already labeled the race weekend in the Ardennes on Saturday as ‘a weekend to forget’, and even his comeback race and top ten finish a day later could not change the Brit’s mind. However, Hamilton is still looking forward to the next Grand Prix in Hungary.

Lewis Hamilton was quite disheartened after his disappointing qualification at Spa-Francorchamps. “It’s really been a very bad weekend so far,” said the seven-time world champion after the ‘incredibly painful’ early elimination in Q1. However, Hamilton drove an impressive comeback race a day later, finishing the Belgian GP in seventh place. Still, the Ferrari driver apologized to his team.

“Sorry for this weekend, guys. I cost you points. I will work harder to come back stronger at the next race. You executed the strategy and pit stops wonderfully,” the Ferrari driver said over the team radio after the race.

Looking Forward to Hungary

The seven-time world champion hopes to ‘put behind him’ the race at Spa-Francorchamps and is looking forward to the Hungarian GP. “I certainly have confidence in the future and learned more about the car today,” Hamilton told Formula1.com. “The plan is to better tune the car for next week (in Hungary). I don’t see why we couldn’t achieve better results in the future.”
