Hamilton Eyes Ferrari Revival with New Engineer Move
Ferrari

Ferrari is still hunting for a new race engineer for Lewis Hamilton. In the run-up to the Scuderia’s season launch it became clear the seven-time world champion is parting ways with Riccardo Adami. The partnership with the Italian was one of the sore points in Hamilton’s disappointing debut year at Ferrari. Reportedly, the team now has a replacement in its sights: McLaren engineer Cedric Michel-Grosjean.

Lewis Hamilton is aiming to reassert himself in Formula 1 in 2026. After a testing 2025 in which the celebrated driver failed to score a single podium for the first time, he wants to make the new F1 era work in his favour and repair the working relationship with Ferrari. Behind the scenes the Italian outfit has been busy restructuring the team around the Brit. As part of that shake-up, race engineer Riccardo Adami was reassigned to a different role.

According to AutoRacer, Ferrari has already moved to secure a replacement. The Italian outlet reports the Scuderia has prised Lead Trackside Performance Engineer Cedric Michel-Grosjean away from McLaren. The French engineer has been part of Oscar Piastri’s personal crew since the Australian’s debut. Reportedly, Lewis Hamilton will be temporarily supported during the Barcelona test days by race engineer Carlo Santi. Santi previously operated as Kimi Räikkönen’s right-hand man at Ferrari. The team has not yet confirmed who will be Hamilton’s permanent race engineer in 2026.
