For Isack Hadjar, a dream came true in Zandvoort on Sunday: his third place marked his first ever podium in Formula 1. The Frenchman flanked winner Oscar Piastri and home favourite Max Verstappen on the podium at the Dutch GP.
Hadjar owes this unique achievement to a flawless race in the dunes. Although he was fortunate that Lando Norris dropped out from P2 in the final stages, it was due to the Racing Bulls driver’s own merit that he was in a position to take advantage of this.
The fourth place that the French rookie held at that time was partly due to an impressive qualifying round on Saturday. In it, he secured P4 on the grid. This laid the foundation for what will always be the race in which his dream came true: the first F1 podium is a reality.
