Haas has extended its technical partnership with Ferrari until 2028, the team announced on Tuesday. Since its Formula 1 debut in 2016, the American racing team has been using engines from Maranello. Haas will soon be Ferrari’s only partner, as customer team Sauber will be rebranded as an Audi factory team from 2026 onwards.
Ayao Komatsu’s Take on the Partnership
Ayao Komatsu is pleased that Haas can rely on Ferrari for another four years. “I am delighted that we can extend this collaboration until 2028,” says the Japanese team leader. “We have always raced with Ferrari engines. Renewing this partnership is a crucial step in our future development.”
The Special Relationship with Ferrari
“Our relationship with Ferrari has always been special,” explains the Haas team boss. “The Scuderia has been instrumental in our debut and has been a valuable technical partner over the past seasons. It’s good to announce that we are heading into the future together. My thanks go to Fred Vasseur and all the other Scuderia Ferrari staff who have faith in this project – this proves once again that Haas has the ambition to continue investing and growing.”
Haas’ New Driver
In addition to extending with Ferrari, Haas is also debuting a new driver in Formula 1. The 19-year-old Oliver Bearman signed a multi-year contract with the Americans during the race weekend in Silverstone. Who will join him is still unclear, although the team is rumored to have reached an agreement with Esteban Ocon.
