After leaving Sauber, Guanyu Zhou has found a new home at Ferrari for the 2025 season, where he will serve as a reserve driver alongside Antonio Giovinazzi.
Like his former Sauber teammate Valtteri Bottas, Guanyu Zhou will be a reserve driver in F1 this season. For the Finn, it will be with Mercedes, and for the Chinese driver, it will be with Ferrari. His signing was officially announced on Wednesday, and he thus rejoins Frédéric Vasseur at Scuderia, who had given him his start at Sauber in 2022.
In three seasons, Zhou has participated in 68 Grand Prix, scored 16 points, and had 11 retirements. While his first year was promising, his performance, as well as that of his car, significantly declined in the following two seasons.
Zhou will not be the only reserve driver for Ferrari as Italian Antonio Giovinazzi, who is also a driver in the Hypercar program in WEC, will continue in this role.
