With four consecutive world titles under his belt, Max Verstappen can certainly be considered one of the greats in Formula 1 racing. According to former driver Johnny Herbert, however, the number of world titles is not the only thing Verstappen shares with the icons of F1. “All these special drivers have this,” explains the current FIA steward.

Max Verstappen joined an illustrious group last November with his fourth consecutive world title. The Dutchman is now on par with Sebastian Vettel and Alain Prost. Only Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, and Juan Manuel Fangio have more world titles to their names. According to former F1 driver Johnny Herbert, Verstappen shares something else with the big names: intimidation.”The FIA steward explains how various icons in the premier class instilled awe, in the same way Max Verstappen does today. “It’s the intimidation that Verstappen has with everything he’s done. To a certain extent, it’s comparable to the intimidation of Michael Schumacher, of Ayrton Senna,” Herbert tells Casinoutanspelpaus.io. “Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Mika Häkkinen, and Sebastian Vettel. All these special drivers have the ability to shine, even when it’s tough.”

Agression

The Dutch world champion came under scrutiny a few times in 2024 due to his sometimes ‘aggressive’ driving style. Verstappen will be fighting for his fifth world title in 2025, presumably not in the best car on the grid. However, Herbert does not foresee the driver becoming even more ‘aggressive’. “I don’t think Max Verstappen will drive more aggressively than he already does. I think the amount of aggression we see now is probably as much as he will dish out,” says Herbert.”
