For the third year in a row, Ferrari has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Car number 83, driven by former Formula 1 driver Robert Kubica, Yifei Ye, and Philip Hanson, crossed the finish line first after a day of racing. Nyck de Vries, who finished second for Toyota last year, had to settle for sixth place this time. It was a challenging edition for the Dutch drivers – none of them made it to the podium.

Ferrari once again crowned itself the winner of the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2022, car #51 won, in 2023 car #50, and this year the final victory went to car #83. Interestingly, this time it was not an official factory team, although the team does race under the flag of the Italian racing stable. The Porsche Penske #6 and the Ferrari #51 completed the podium. Compared to the chaotic edition of last year, this 93rd race went relatively smoothly.

No Dutch Success

Nyck de Vries, who stood on the podium last year, had a challenging race. Toyota struggled with a lack of pace compared to the other hypercars. Starting from P17, De Vries and his teammates managed to make up some places, but an attack on the podium was not forthcoming. Robin Frijns, competing in the #20 from BMW, faced multiple technical issues and fell far behind. He eventually finished in a disappointing eighteenth place.

In the LMP2 class, the victory went to Inter Europol Competition. Here too, the Dutch participants had a tough time. Job van Uitert was running in the top three with IDEC Sport for a long time, but dropped out after a wheel flew off his car. Renger van der Zande had to slow down due to technical issues and finished seventh. Bent Viscaal and Nicky Catsburg finished sixth and thirteenth respectively. In the LMGT3 class, Loek Hartog and Lin Hodenius finished sixth and twelfth.
