Ferrari has taken a significant step in making a crucial decision for the 2025 season. The team has decided to switch to a pull-rod system for the front suspension, a strategic change specifically aimed at optimizing the car for Lewis Hamilton’s driving style. The seven-time world champion will join the Italian team after this season.

A Complete Chassis Redesign

According to the Italian news outlet Formu1a.uno, the decision to implement the pull-rod system has already been made. This change requires a completely new chassis for Ferrari’s 2025 car. The new system promises improved airflow under the front of the car, which is essential for achieving faster lap times.

Benefits for the Drivers

The switch to a pull-rod system for the front suspension not only benefits Hamilton but also Charles Leclerc. Leclerc’s driving style aligns more with Hamilton’s than with current Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz. Moreover, this choice emphasizes Ferrari’s ambition to compete with the current leading teams, Red Bull and McLaren, both of which also use the pull-rod system.
