The Ferrari Formula 1 team is entering into a collaboration with Gladiator II, the highly anticipated sequel to director Ridley Scott’s epic blockbuster. The sequel premieres in London on Wednesday. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will also be present on the red carpet. The stars of Gladiator II, including Paul Mescal, Connie Nielsen, and Fred Hechinger, are in turn invited to the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Publisher Paramount Pictures and the Ferrari Formula 1 team aim to elevate the fan experience with this collaboration. The unique collaboration between the film industry and motorsport will be celebrated in a grand manner during the Las Vegas Grand Prix. According to an official press release, both Gladiator II and Ferrari honor tradition while also innovating extensively.
Film in Formula 1
“We are delighted to celebrate Gladiator II together with Paramount Pictures,” said Lorenzo Giorgetti, Revenue Officer for Scuderia. “This title is as famous in the film world as Ferrari is in racing.” The original Gladiator (2000) won the Oscar for Best Picture and is still hugely popular. “The sequel offers the audience an epic experience on an unparalleled scale,” added Marc Weinstock, marketing director at Paramount. “It is therefore logical that we collaborate with the most iconic and exciting motorsport team in the world.”
This is not the first time this year that a Formula 1 team has joined forces with a major film production. During the Belgian Grand Prix, Alpine already drove with a special livery in honor of the Marvel movie Deadpool & Wolverine. It is still unknown whether the SF-24 will get a new color scheme for the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix.
