Formula 1 has announced an agreement with the F1 Academy. All current F1 teams are renewing their multi-year partnership with the racing class. The ten teams will continue to sponsor a livery and a driver within the F1 Academy for the coming years. From 2027, the new Formula 1 team Cadillac will also join as a sponsor of the junior series.

Formula 1 has reached a ‘milestone agreement’ with the F1 Academy. All ten current F1 teams will continue their association with the racing class. The new Formula 1 team from Cadillac, which makes its debut in 2026, will join as a sponsor within the F1 Academy from 2027. In addition, the series has implemented a significant rule change: drivers who have competed in the series in the two previous seasons can, in exceptional cases, be considered for a third season. This rule applies exclusively to drivers whose potential for further growth is clearly demonstrable.

F1 Academy Director Susie Wolff emphasized the importance of the new agreements: “The long-term support of all ten Formula 1 teams, and the addition of Cadillac from 2027, is a powerful signal for the future of the F1 Academy. We not only provide a platform for the current generation of female drivers, but together we are building a route for future generations of talent. We are impressed by the amount of female talent coming from the karting world. By focusing more on individual talent development, including the opportunity for exceptional drivers to participate for up to three seasons, top drivers will receive the support and opportunities they need to truly maximize their potential. At the same time, it ensures that the F1 Academy grid continues to consist of the best female talent.”

Title Battle on the Strip

The F1 Academy is back in action during the Grand Prix of Las Vegas. Doriane Pin leads the championship, with Dutch Maya Weug just 9 points behind. In one weekend, a driver can earn a maximum of 37 points: ten points for winning the first race, 25 points for the second race, and an extra point for the fastest race lap in both races. It promises to be an exciting battle between the French Mercedes junior and the Dutch Ferrari junior.
