For the first time, Formula 1 is hosting a launch event ahead of the upcoming season, marking the 75th season in the sport’s history. The “F1 75” event will take place this Tuesday evening at the O2 Arena in London, bringing together the 20 drivers and various artists.
The Formula 1 season spans 24 Grand Prix weekends, but the drivers are already expected on the red carpet just under a month before the first race weekend of the year 2025.
For its 75th season, F1 has gone all out to kick off this new season by deciding to host an exceptional presentation evening this Tuesday, dubbed “F1 75”. From Lewis Hamilton to Isack Hadjar, the 20 drivers and various artists are expected in London.
Where and When Will “F1 75” Take Place?
The cream of the crop of Formula 1 will gather at the O2 Arena, in East London. The event will span 2 hours, from 21:00 to 23:00 CET, this Tuesday. Therefore, the drivers have an appointment one month before the Australian Grand Prix, with the first trials starting on March 14, followed by the race on the 16th.
Why This Event?
Eager to showcase its product even more, Liberty Media Group, the owner of the commercial rights to Formula 1, wants to build up excitement before the first laps around the circuit (the winter tests in Bahrain will take place from February 26 to 28). The evening will particularly allow the ten teams to present the liveries of their single-seaters.
What to Expect from the Event
However, the focus will likely be on aesthetics rather than technical details, as teams are expected to reveal only their colors, not the technical details of their single-seaters. Each team will have about ten minutes to present their livery, but this won’t stop some of them from organizing traditional individual launch days, such as Ferrari on February 19 or Mercedes on the 24th.
Anticipated Celebrities
The mastermind behind the evening, Brian Burke, has put together a musical lineup for the drivers and the audience. The event will be hosted by British actor and comedian Jack Whitehall. The artistic lineup will consist of American country singer Kane Brown, the band Take That, Texas rapper Machine Gun Kelly, and Brian Tyler, the composer behind the Formula 1 theme.
They will share the spotlight with Lewis Hamilton, the star of the evening in his new red colors. On the French side, Isack Hadjar, promoted within the Racing Bulls team, will also be part of the event. Max Verstappen will be there too. “I hope I’ll be sick that week,” he joked during a Twitch stream, before assuring that it was indeed a jest.
