Former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has issued a warning to Max Verstappen about a potential move to Ferrari. Despite the Dutchman stating before the summer break that he would stay with his current employer Red Bull, the businessman hopes that Verstappen will not consider the Italian racing team in the future. “If he goes to Ferrari, it will be the end of his career,” Ecclestone said.
Lewis Hamilton has not been able to achieve the success he and the Italian racing team had hoped for in his first year at Ferrari. Apart from during the sprint races, the Brit has not finished on the podium in 2025. Former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone had previously called for Lewis Hamilton to leave the premier class, but now he also has a warning for Max Verstappen.
End of Career
Despite the Dutchman stating before the summer break that he would stay with Red Bull, Ecclestone has a message for the world champion. “If he goes to Ferrari, it will be the end of his career,” the British businessman told Sport.de. “Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.”
So who should take the spot at the Italian team? Ecclestone has an answer for that too. “They should choose an up-and-coming talent,” the businessman continues. “I would go for the Brazilian Bortoleto, I think he’s very good. Or else Isack Hadjar. Bortoleto is certainly doing a good job. Put him in the right car and you’ll see.”
