Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Duncan Laurence is set to perform the Dutch national anthem, Wilhelmus, at the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix. The 30-year-old artist, who shot to fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019, follows in the footsteps of Andre Rieu, Floor Jansen, and Davina Michelle with his performance at Zandvoort.
The summer break is finally coming to an end! Preparations are underway in Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix and the second half of the Formula 1 season. Duncan Laurence, former Eurovision Song Contest winner, will perform the Wilhelmus before the race. According to the organizers, Laurence will accompany himself on the piano as the entire circuit is bathed in red, white, and blue. The ceremony promises to be the largest flag event in Dutch sports history.
Creating a Unique Experience
“As always, we aim to entertain and surprise our spectators during the Dutch Grand Prix,” says Sports Director Jan Lammers. “We strive to showcase the best of our beautiful country and truly stand out. So, once again, alongside the thrilling battle on the circuit, I am proud of our internationally appreciated Dutch approach.”

Duncan Laurence is also looking forward to inaugurating the Dutch race. “It’s a tremendous honor to sing the Wilhelmus at the Dutch Grand Prix,” he responded. “It’s a moment of national pride, and I’m very excited to share this with the world.”
