Formula 1 chief Stefano Domenicali has expressed his confidence in Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur. According to Domenicali, Vasseur is exactly the right man to prepare the Italian racing team for a successful return to the top in 2026. Last season, the team with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton only finished fourth in the constructors’ championship.
“Fred has proven that he has the capabilities and experience to lead a team at the highest level. We want a strong Ferrari, and for that, we need someone who can make a difference both strategically and operationally. Fred fits perfectly into that picture,” Domenicali told Sky Sports.
Domenicali, who himself was team boss of Ferrari from 2008 to 2014, considers it essential that the team also functions well behind the scenes. Domenicali: “That’s where Fred’s leadership comes fully into its own. The upcoming season is an opportunity to show that Ferrari can excel not only in speed but also at the team level. They have all the tools and the right people, now it’s a matter of making optimal use of everything. Change can be challenging, but with the right people on board, like Fred, Ferrari can build sustainable performance. This is the path to success in modern Formula 1.”
