Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen have been disqualified from the Monaco Grand Prix results following the qualification round. Both drivers will have to start the race from the pitlane on Sunday due to a technical violation involving the rear wings of their cars.
The Haas team was summoned by the stewards after the qualification round, following the discovery of irregularities in the rear wings of the cars by the FIA. The race jury confirmed that these did not comply with the regulations, leading to an immediate disqualification of both cars.
“Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen had respectively qualified twelfth and fifteenth. The stewards concluded that a part of the rear wing was not in accordance with the rules,” said a spokesperson for the FIA. “The team indicated that they were racing with a new design this weekend, and that’s where the problem occurred. The previous design did comply with the rules.”
