On Saturday, Nyck de Vries achieved an impressive second place in the penultimate Formula E race in London. Fellow countryman Robin Frijns also put on a commendable performance: starting in nineteenth place, he overtook no less than eleven cars and finished a respectable eighth.

The victory in London went to Nick Cassidy. The New Zealander won for the third time in five races. He was just a bit too fast for De Vries, who also had to settle for P2 in the qualifiers. Nonetheless, the Dutchman was no less joyful afterwards. “I’m mainly happy that I could reward the team with this podium finish for all their hard work,” he said, referring to his team, Mahindra.

The fight for the title no longer matters in the closing race weekend. Earlier this month in Berlin, Oliver Rowland was already crowned the new world champion in Formula E. The season ends Sunday afternoon with a second race in the British capital.
