Senior engineer Dan Fallows has been named the new technical director of Racing Bulls. The team confirmed the appointment on Saturday. Under the oversight of chief technical officer Tim Goss, he will take charge of the technical department in Faenza from April. The new role marks a return to the Red Bull ranks for Fallows; between 2006 and 2021 he worked at the senior team, serving as the right-hand to the celebrated Adrian Newey.
“I am very pleased to be joining Racing Bulls, especially at this exciting stage for the team,” Dan Fallows said via the official channels. “There is a clear vision and strong technical ambition, and I look forward to working closely with Tim and the rest of the technical staff. I can’t wait to improve performance and further build the team for the future.”
‘Wealth of experience’
Team principal Alan Permane – who last year took over from Laurent Mekies – also responded enthusiastically. “Dan brings a wealth of experience, and his technical knowledge and leadership will be a real asset to the team. We want to keep developing and make competitive progress. We are delighted to welcome him to Racing Bulls.”
A few years ago Aston Martin managed to prise Dan Fallows away from Red Bull after a lengthy legal dispute over his notice period. He eventually joined the British team in 2022. Initially that move brought improved results for the outfit, but over the longer term Aston Martin – literally and figuratively – was overtaken by the competition. In November 2024 Fallows announced his departure.
