Following Yuki Tsunoda, Franco Colapinto also had a mishap in Q1. The newly minted Alpine driver, like the Japanese racer, went too far over the kerbs and crashed at full speed into the tyre barrier.

Franco Colapinto, upon exiting the first set of turns, went too far over the kerbs, lost control, and ended up in the tyre barrier on the right side of the track. Little remains of his Alpine. Both front tyres are barely hanging on, and the front wing is completely off. The Argentine had already set a lap time, good enough for P15, but a spot in Q3 is no longer in the cards.
