Red Bull team boss Christian Horner has responded to his dismissal this evening. On Wednesday morning, he had already emotionally bid farewell to the racing team’s staff at the headquarters in Milton Keynes. “It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to the team I absolutely loved,” Horner writes on his Instagram account.
“After an incredible twenty-year journey together, I am saying goodbye to the team I absolutely loved with a heavy heart. Each and every one of you, the amazing people in the factory, have been the heart and soul of everything we have achieved. Winning and losing, at every step, we have stood by each other as one, and I will never forget that. It was a privilege to be part of this epic team and to lead it. I am so proud of our collective achievements and of all of you,” Horner writes.
He continues: “Thank you to the amazing partners and fans who have enabled us to go racing. Your support has helped the team grow from humble beginnings to an F1 powerhouse that has won six constructors’ titles and eight drivers’ titles. Equally, thanks to our competitors, without whom there would be no races. You have pushed us, challenged us, and enabled us to win prizes we never thought possible. The competition has made every victory sweeter and every setback has offered us the opportunity to further develop and grow.”
