Charles Leclerc is eagerly anticipating the arrival of Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari. The British driver will be joining the Italian team at the end of the year, after more than a decade with Mercedes. Leclerc is certainly looking forward to competing against Hamilton.
Hamilton will be leaving for Ferrari at the end of the season, replacing Carlos Sainz as Leclerc’s teammate. The Brit has achieved many successes in his Formula 1 career, including seven world titles. Therefore, the Monegasque is eager to compete directly against Hamilton.
“I’m very curious about what (Hamilton) has done well throughout his career to have all the success he’s had,” Leclerc tells The Race. “He has almost no weaknesses. Actually, I don’t know any weaknesses of Lewis. He is a super strong driver, always present, super fast, super consistent.”
Motivation
The Ferrari driver hopes to learn a lot from Hamilton, but also to compete with the Brit. “Those two things motivate me enormously,” says Leclerc. Does the Monegasque also think he can beat the seven-time world champion right away? “I don’t really think about what the expectations are, because for me I just need to focus on what I need to do,” concludes the driver.
