On Friday, tickets for the announced F1-75 event went on sale. During this special launch of the anniversary season, all teams will simultaneously unveil their new cars. However, the sale was anything but smooth. Social media was flooded with complaints about the limited number of tickets and the exorbitant prices for resold tickets.
It promises to be a spectacular evening at the O2 Arena in London. During the so-called F1 75 event, scheduled for Tuesday, February 18, the upcoming anniversary season will be officially launched. In the presence of thousands of fans, musical guests, and all Formula 1 drivers, the cars for 2025 will also be unveiled simultaneously. Many enthusiasts were in the virtual queue on Friday to get a ticket, but unfortunately, this was particularly chaotic.
Pricing Multiplied Tenfold
All tickets were sold out within forty-five minutes. Even fans who had waited for hours to get a ticket had to leave disappointed. Complaints poured in on social media about error messages, long waiting times, and the limited number of available tickets. “I’ve been in the queue for an hour and I still don’t have a ticket,” wrote a frustrated fan. “I can’t wait to see how the hall will be filled with influencers who don’t care about Formula 1 anyway,” another responded cynically.
It’s also nearly impossible for fans to score a ticket on the secondary market. On resale platforms, the prices for an F1 75 ticket are skyrocketing. While a ticket via the official website cost between 58 and 113 British pounds, the best tickets are now being offered for over 1100 pounds. Many fans call it a disgrace and fear that the event will become unreachable for the real enthusiasts. “We should actually boycott F1 75,” responded several social media users.
