Cadillac is set to make its Formula 1 debut in 2026, with support from facilities on two continents. Team boss Graeme Lowdon has confirmed that the team will initially operate from Silverstone for the first season, as the American headquarters in Fishers, Indiana, is still under construction.

Cadillac will join the grid as the eleventh constructor next year. The team will start with two experienced drivers: Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas. As the new base in Indianapolis is not yet completed, team boss Graeme Lowdon has announced that the Formula 1 operation will be led from the United Kingdom for the time being. The team will use an existing facility in Silverstone for this purpose.

Lowdon said in the Beyond the Grid podcast: “The base in Fishers will be a brand new complex of nearly 50,000 square meters, specifically built for Formula 1. Eventually, most of the car will be built there. But Cadillac only officially got the green light to participate in March of this year. You can’t just build a factory from scratch, hire all the staff, install machines, and then also build parts to Formula 1 quality.”

Transatlantic Collaboration

“We have a facility in Silverstone, which now serves as a logistics center,” Lowdon explains. “Our aerodynamic and mechanical design team is based there. The car for 2026 will be managed from there for the time being, as long as the factory in Fishers is still under construction. But in the long term, Cadillac’s headquarters will truly be based in the US.” When asked about the collaboration between the two locations, Lowdon responds with a wink: “Our corridors may be very, very long and stretch across the Atlantic Ocean, but the team functions as a whole.”
