With just a few weeks to go, the 2026 preseason is about to kick off. Formula 1 will hold its first test days in Barcelona at the end of January, prompting all racing teams and engine manufacturers to put the finishing touches on their cars and engines. For Cadillac, it’s an especially exciting time as the team is making its debut. The American racing team is taking the next step towards its entry by announcing the race engineers for drivers Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez.

Cadillac’s team is on the verge of making their first strides as the eleventh team in Formula 1. Therefore, the pieces of the puzzle are increasingly falling into place for the American team. Earlier, veterans Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas were already designated as the two drivers for the team. The pair – together accounting for sixteen Grand Prix victories – have spent years with top teams Mercedes and Red Bull, and bring a wealth of experience to a brand new team. Cadillac later appointed American IndyCar driver Colton Herta as a test driver.

New Race Engineers

Cadillac is now taking the next step: announcing the race engineers for Pérez and Bottas. In 2026, the Mexican driver will be working with former Aston Martin engineer Carlo Pasetti, while ex-Alpine man John Howard will be on the pit wall for Bottas, according to PlanetF1. Howard worked with Pierre Gasly at the French racing team before he moved to Cadillac last August.
