The highly anticipated F1: The Movie is soon to hit Dutch cinemas. This spectacular blockbuster project, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, was filmed over two years in the heart of the paddock. The question is whether the hearts of racing fans worldwide will also beat faster for Brad Pitt as a Formula 1 veteran. Bruckheimer does not rule out the possibility of a sequel if the film proves successful.
Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer has left the door ajar for a possible sequel to F1: The Movie, even before the original film has been released. A glamorous premiere already took place at Times Square in New York after the GP of Canada, but Dutch cinema-goers will have to wait a few more days; the film will be released in the Netherlands from June 25. In an interview with the Australian The Today Show, Bruckheimer hinted at a second Formula 1 film.
Albert Park Circuit
“Jerry, you mentioned that Melbourne has a Formula 1 Grand Prix,” began correspondent Jonathan Kearsley. “Could we perhaps see a second part of F1: The Movie that starts in Melbourne? Launching the season and the film at the beautiful Albert Park Circuit?” Bruckheimer responded with noticeable enthusiasm.
“That’s up to you,” he joked. “If you promote the film and many people watch it, we’ll figure out how to make a sequel. Melbourne is a circuit we haven’t been to, but I would love to film there. I know it’s a favorite track of many drivers. So yes, that would be a great way to start a sequel.”
