Hollywood actor Brad Pitt is set to star in the upcoming Formula 1 movie F1. The 61-year-old American will portray Sonny Hayes, a fictional driver making a comeback in the premier class. During his preparation and filming of various scenes, Pitt got a taste of the Formula 1 lifestyle. Consequently, he concluded that drivers have a much tougher job than the average movie star.
In an interview with GQ, Brad Pitt compared his life as an actor to the life of the average Formula 1 driver. “There is certainly a sense of isolation,” he said about a career in Hollywood. “Or even loneliness when you feel like things are not falling into place. But usually, everything leads to something bigger and you can set goals naturally. That isolation always remains, although it’s not necessarily negative. It requires constant effort and ongoing discussion.”
“I think we (actors) don’t have it easy, but those guys (drivers) are scrutinized even more,” Pitt continued. “They get so much flak. That really shocked me. They must have a thicker skin than us. At the same time, there are so many people who think they could do this too, just because they drive fast on the highway or something.”
