The start of the Belgian Grand Prix has been delayed. The drivers began the formation lap behind the safety car, but it quickly became clear that the conditions were too dangerous. Due to heavy rainfall, the asphalt at Spa-Francorchamps is so wet that racing is currently out of the question.
After one lap, all cars returned to the pit lane and the red flag was waved. The race management is closely monitoring the situation, but for now, it remains a waiting game until the weather improves and the track dries up sufficiently for a safe restart.
