Oliver Bearman is treading on thin ice following his collision with Carlos Sainz Jr during the Italian Grand Prix. The British driver received a ten-second time penalty and two penalty points on his super license for the collision in turn 4 on Sunday.
With this, the Haas driver now has ten of the maximum allowed twelve penalty points. Should Bearman accumulate two more points on his super license in the coming period, it will result in a one-race suspension.
Ironically, Oliver Bearman made his second Grand Prix appearance last year as a replacement for Kevin Magnussen, who was then suspended due to an excess of penalty points. During the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the Brit was allowed to step in and immediately scored a point for the Haas team. Now, he is facing the same situation as the man he replaced back then.
