Aston Martin Unveils Bold AMR26 Livery in Barcelona

With a heavily stuttering livestream, Aston Martin on Monday — as the last team to reveal — unveiled its 2026 livery. The brand‑new AMR26 had already made its debut earlier during the closed shakedown in Barcelona. At that time the car ran in bare carbon; it now wears the familiar green design. Although Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll logged relatively few miles in Spain, the AMR26 still got people talking. Expectations are high around the radical design from team boss and chief designer Adrian Newey.

Technical problems

Aston Martin will be hoping the car has fewer technical gremlins than the livestream, because the feed had to be restarted several times across the multiple platforms carrying the presentation. There was, in the end, no genuine ‘live’ stream. But when it did work, there was the reveal of the car — and it is, as always, finished in British racing green. There are yellow accents in places and some black sections as well.

The new livery throws Adrian Newey’s design choices into sharper relief: the front and rear suspension, the cutouts in the sidepods, the distinctive front wing and a host of other aerodynamic elements. Newey is proud of the new car.

“It’s a rare moment in Formula 1 — 2026 is the first year that so many changes to the car and the power unit come together at the same time. What the best team philosophy will be can only be learned over time. It’s never immediately clear how the car will behave; you have to keep working to understand it better. With the AMR26 we are targeting the complete package: everything has to work in harmony, it isn’t about one single component. A strong foundation is crucial, with the potential to evolve the car so Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso can hopefully deliver strong, consistent performances.”
