Aston Martin is falling hopelessly behind. In the last three races, the team has only managed to gather four points. While the top teams are fiercely competing, Aston Martin is left to contend with rivals like Yuki Tsunoda and Visa RB at Silverstone. The patience of Lawrence Stroll, the Canadian billionaire, is wearing thin as he continues to invest heavily to get his team back on track.

Stroll senior declared war on the top teams in Netflix’s Drive to Survive, his plans to compete for titles are more ambitious than ever. However, Aston Martin is failing to deliver on the track. Where they had collected 154 points after eight races in 2023, the tally now stands at 44. After the Grand Prix of Imola, there was reportedly an urgent meeting between team boss Mike Krack, technical director Dan Fallows, and Lawrence Stroll.

Fallows is said to be under the most pressure. The engineer was appointed in 2021 to build championship-worthy cars, but so far, Aston Martin has only managed to reach the fifth place in the championship.

Draining Ferrari

Stroll is reportedly desperately seeking external technicians to strengthen the Silverstone team. Former Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto has already been offered a position, but according to reports, Aston Martin has also made a multimillion-dollar offer to Ferrari’s current aerodynamics chief. Enrico Cardile has not yet declined the offer, but it is unlikely that he would want to leave Maranello for a job with the green racing team.
