Aston Martin has added another top talent to its team. Gary Gannon, former race engineer for the Haas team, has joined the engineering team at Aston Martin. The American has previously worked with Nico Hülkenberg and Mick Schumacher.

Gannon decided to leave the Haas stable at the end of 2024, simultaneously with driver Nico Hülkenberg. The two had been working together since the German’s return to Haas at the beginning of 2023. Prior to that, Gannon was the race engineer for Mick Schumacher and Romain Grosjean. It is still unknown who the former Haas engineer will be working with at Aston Martin, Lance Stroll or Fernando Alonso, according to Autosport.

In 2024, Stroll worked with engineer Ben Michell, while Alonso heard race engineer Chris Cronin over the radio. Cronin had previously worked with Alonso’s predecessors at Aston Martin, Sebastian Vettel and Sergio Pérez. During the Mexican’s time, the team was still known under the names Force India and Racing Point.

Long Line

Gannon is just the latest in a long line of new employees for the British team in recent years. Enrico Cardile (from Ferrari), Eric Blandin (from Mercedes), and top designer Adrian Newey (also from Red Bull) have already made the switch. Earlier this week, there were also rumors that Aston Martin was trying to bring in driver Max Verstappen, but the British racing stable denies this.
