Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s Friday at his home race weekend, the Italian GP, has already come to an end. The rookie ended up in the gravel trap just ten minutes into the second free practice session and was unable to get out. This prematurely ended the second practice hour for the Italian, marking a disappointing start to his Grand Prix weekend in his home country of Italy.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli lost control of his W16 in turn seven, subsequently shooting straight into the gravel. When the Mercedes driver could no longer get out of the gravel trap on his own, the session was halted. The second free practice has since resumed.
