Kimi Antonelli was the first driver to hit the wall during the qualifying round for the Monaco Grand Prix. The red flag was waved and as there was less than a minute left on the clock, Q1 was immediately terminated. With a time good enough for P15, the Mercedes driver would normally proceed to Q2, but due to the damage incurred, his qualification has come to an end.
As he exited the tunnel towards the chicane, Antonelli steered a bit too sharply, touched the wall, and then slid straight into the barriers. He now faces a catch-up race on Sunday.
