Anthony Hamilton — father of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton — is launching a new racing series: HybridV10. The beloved V10 engines take center stage, though the organisers insist there’s room for innovation. The exact kick-off date is still unknown.
For Anthony Hamilton, this is not his first stint in motorsport. He previously managed former Force India driver Paul di Resta. Since 2025 he has also served as an adviser to the FIA, contributing to the Young Driver Development Pathway.
Hamilton is now launching an independent championship called HybridV10, where the roar of the iconic V10 engines is a key selling point. “HybridV10 is an independent global motorsport festival and racing series focused on competitive single-seater racing,” the announcement said. “The aim of the festival is to restore emotion, innovation and opportunity in the sport in a modern, open and accessible way. HybridV10 combines high-impact racing with technology, culture and participation from ordinary fans. It will be staged as festival events around the world.”
“Authentic Racing”: HybridV10’s Promise to Bring Back Raw Sound and Pure Competition
The organisers say they want to put “authentic racing” back in the spotlight. “HybridV10 is based on a simple principle: a return to authentic racing with real sound, real competition, open opportunity and disciplined cost control, delivered through clear, transparent structures, free from unnecessary complexity,” the press release continued. To achieve this, the series plans to standardise costs and safety for the new class.
When the championship will start exactly, and which drivers will compete, will be announced at a later date. Ordinary people and hardcore fans alike will be watching — waiting for a winner to emerge from this clash of old-school roar and modern innovation.
