“He is undoubtedly the best designer ever in the sport. No one will reach the figures he has achieved,” Alonso said in an interview on Aston Martin’s YouTube channel. Newey’s constructor titles, championship cars, and unique designs speak for themselves. “The way he works explains the results he has achieved.”
According to Alonso, what sets Newey apart is his unique vision. “He has an incredible ability to see the car as a cohesive whole, not as separate parts that deliver performance. He can sense the overall picture of the car in advance. Newey is more of an artist than an engineer.” His calm, confident demeanor also plays a big role. “Newey seems to have control over everything at any given moment, with a confidence I have never seen before. He doesn’t worry about other teams, other philosophies, or designs. He believes that what he does will be the best.”
