Alexander Albon faced disqualification after the Dutch GP qualification on Saturday. The race management found that the floor of his Williams car did not meet the requirements, leading to the British Thai’s removal from the results. Initially finishing eighth, he now has to start from the back.

The disqualification of Albon is a significant blow for Williams. It means that almost certain points are lost, as overtaking is notoriously difficult on the Zandvoort circuit. Adding to the disappointment, not only Albon, but also teammate Logan Sargeant will start from the last row. Sargeant did not set a time in the qualification, completing the sporting drama for Williams.

Sargeant’s absence in the qualification was due to a severe crash during the third free practice. The American, in his final races for the English racing team, completely wrote off his car, which even caught fire. Fortunately, the driver remained unharmed.
