On Friday, Red Bull finally unveiled the much-anticipated RB17, a hypercar designed by mastermind Adrian Newey. The 65-year-old aerodynamics guru, along with team boss Christian Horner, presented the first glimpse of his creation at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Both are immensely proud of the extraordinary vehicle.

“I’ve had the idea to build my own hypercar for years,” Adrian Newey said about his RB17. “It’s been a fantastic project. Being able to finally unveil the RB17 is incredibly satisfying.” The car, which is currently intended for track use only, is one of the most extreme vehicles even at Goodwood. “This car reflects everything Red Bull stands for,” Newey explains. “Clear power, speed, and beauty.”

For the 65-year-old Brit, it was important that the RB17 – based on Formula 1 technology – would remain a two-seater. “We deliberately chose two seats,” he says. “This way, you can always enjoy the Formula 1 experience with a friend or partner.”

A ‘Classic in the Making’

Christian Horner is also pleased that Adrian Newey’s project has finally seen the light of day – after all, the RB17 has been in production for years. “We’re happy to finally unveil the car,” he says. “It’s one of the most authentic projects from Red Bull to date. With twenty years of experience in Formula 1, it’s only logical that we now release our own hypercar. Through the combination of technical innovation, performance, and emotional appeal, Adrian Newey has truly created a historic car with the RB17. This is a classic in the making.”
