At just 12 years old, Dean Hoogendoorn has joined the Williams training team. This Dutch prodigy has already achieved success in various karting championships and aims to chase his wildest racing dreams with the help of Williams. “This is what I live for and dream of,” says the young racer.

Dean Hoogendoorn, at the tender age of twelve, becomes the youngest member of the Williams Academy following a series of impressive results in the karting world. At just 9 years old, Dean became the youngest ever winner of the WSK Super Master Race Mini Gr. 3 class, a record that remains unbroken to this day.

A Proud Moment

With the help of Williams, he hopes to better prepare for a successful career in motorsport. “When I was four years old and drove a kart for the first time, I knew one thing for sure: I wanted to become a world champion,” Hoogendoorn reveals in a press release. “This is what I live for and dream of. Racing is my passion and I am very proud to now be part of the Williams family. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.”

Williams’ Sports Director’s Thoughts

Sven Smeets, sports director at Williams, is pleased to have signed Dean Hoogendoorn. “Dean is a promising talent,” says Smeets. “He has made an impressive start in the karting world, and is faster than most other drivers his age. He has a bright future ahead of him – we look forward to further supporting his development.”

Hoogendoorn’s Recent Achievements

In the last few years, the young Hoogendoorn has achieved many successes; multiple WSK victories, two wins in the WSK Final Cup, and the championship in the WSK Euro Series OK-N Junior. In 2024, he will move to the OK Junior karting class with Kart Republic, where he has already achieved a third place in the prestigious WSK Super Master Series and came fourth in the Champions of the Future Valencia.
