With his triumph at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, Max Verstappen recorded his 59th victory in Formula 1. This is an impressive number, especially considering that the Dutchman has only raced 192 times since his debut in 2015. With this ratio, Verstappen surpasses a record set by Lewis Hamilton, placing himself among a unique group of drivers.

Verstappen’s Winning Percentage Surpasses Hamilton’s

59 victories out of 192 Grand Prix races equates to a winning percentage of approximately 30.73%. Since the race weekend in Imola, this score is better than that of Lewis Hamilton, whose winning percentage has plummeted in recent years due to his performance with Mercedes. The seven-time world champion currently has a ‘mere’ winning percentage of 30.38%.

Chasing the Record of Juan Manuel Fangio

The record for this particular statistic is held by Juan Manuel Fangio. The Argentine driver of yesteryears won an impressive 47.06% of all the races he participated in. Whether Verstappen will ever break this record remains to be seen. To enter the top three, he will first have to surpass the legendary Jim Clark.
