Pirelli chief Mario Isola is leaving the Italian tyre supplier. Pirelli itself announced this on Thursday. The Italian had spent the past ten years overseeing Pirelli’s exclusive tyre agreement with Formula 1. Isola will be succeeded by Dario Marrafuschi.
Pirelli announced on the Thursday prior to the first race weekend of 2026 that chief executive Mario Isola is stepping down from his role at the Italian supplier. He was responsible for the company’s Formula 1 operations, overseeing the tyre designs for the pinnacle of motorsport. He was also in charge of supplying tyres for Formula 2 and Formula 3.
Isola will be succeeded on 1 March by Dario Marrafuschi, the new Head of Motorsport Business within Pirelli. The Italian will remain with Pirelli until 1 July 2026 to ensure a smooth handover of his responsibilities to his successor. “The company wishes to thank Mario Isola for his dedication and great passion, with which over the years he has contributed to the growth of the Motorsport division,” Pirelli says in the official press release.
