Things haven’t gone Aston Martin’s way during the test days in Bahrain. On the second Wednesday at the Bahrain International Circuit, Lance Stroll‘s spin triggered the first and only red flag of the day. Twenty-four hours later Fernando Alonso picked up that dubious honour. The problems at Aston Martin therefore appear far from over.
Unlike his team-mate, Fernando Alonso did not spin at the Bahrain International Circuit. The Spaniard did have to abort a race simulation when his AMR26 suddenly came to a halt. Alonso climbed out of the car, which was then recovered by the marshals on duty.
This is not the first time during this second test week that Aston Martin has caused a red flag. A day earlier team-mate Lance Stroll suffered a wheel lock-up, which led the Canadian into a spin and a short excursion into the gravel trap. The first red flag of the second Wednesday in Bahrain had to be waved, while the AMR26 was once again taken off the circuit.
