Max Verstappen has unveiled his helmet for the 2026 Formula 1 season. The design sticks to the familiar red-white-blue palette, with subtle tweaks here and there. “Back with number three,” the four-time world champion wrote on social media. His new race number sits prominently on the shell, which—like his RB22—is finished with a high-gloss sheen.
The new helmet for Max Verstappen keeps the trusted layout: a white base, his iconic lion emblem and the signature red-and-blue motifs, with Red Bull logos on the flanks. At the rear the four stars remain, one for each world title he has claimed. New this year are logo stickers from Ford Racing, Red Bull’s engine partner.
An important change has also been made to the helmet’s rear flap. Since 2022 Verstappen ran race number one on his helmet, but that honour now belongs to reigning world champion Lando Norris. For 2026 Verstappen has opted for number three, which he calls his “favourite number”. That number was previously used by Daniel Ricciardo, who willingly handed it over to his former team-mate. “A few drinks helped,” Verstappen joked during Red Bull’s season launch in Detroit.
