Red Bull has revealed its new livery for 2026! Max Verstappen and new team-mate Isack Hadjar will race next season in a predominantly blue RB22. The design deviates little from the liveries of recent years, although the colour scheme stands out thanks to a glossy paint finish. In recent seasons Red Bull consistently favoured a matte look, but under the new regulations Verstappen will race in a shiny car.
“Together we are unstoppable,” were the emphatic words from chief Bill Ford. In the heart of Detroit the American opened the season launch of Red Bull on Friday. As engine supplier and partner of the Formula 1 team, the car giant had the honour of pulling the cover off the brand-new RB22. It was the first team to lift a corner of the veil ahead of 2026 and the new season. Note: this was a livery reveal; Red Bull is keeping the design of the definitive car under wraps for now. The same goes for sister team Racing Bulls, which presented the VCARB 03. The Italian outfit opted for a … design.
‘A year full of challenges’
“We are facing the biggest regulation change in the history of Formula 1,” stressed team principal and CEO Laurent Mekies. “It will be a year full of incredible challenges, but Red Bull and Ford are willing to face them together.” Ford aligned with the Austrian team after the announcement of the new engine regulations. From 2026 power in Formula 1 will be split evenly between an internal combustion engine (ICE) and an electric motor. “Without these regulatory changes we would not have taken this on,” added Ford CEO Jim Farley.
Soon the new power unit will be unleashed on track for the first time during the opening private tests at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. These five-day tests take place behind closed doors, before all teams decamp to Bahrain for the first public practice sessions. Until then we’ll have to make do with photos of the brand-new liveries of Red Bull and sister team Racing Bulls. Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, one of the guests at the season launch in Detroit, was already promising a ‘great’ season. “New regulations also mean new ideas, new energies and new ways to be competitive,” he said. “Believe me, this is going to be a great year.”
