Cadillac has already revealed its special livery for the test days at Circuit Barcelona-Catalunya. The American squad will bring a specially camouflaged test livery to the Spanish circuit, with the names of all the founders worked into the design. Cadillac lines up for its debut season in Formula 1 as the eleventh team, and — like the other Formula 1 teams — hopes the livery will help keep its design secrets under wraps for now.
The Cadillac team will appear on the grid next season for the first time as the eleventh outfit. With experienced hands Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas in the cockpits, the American operation is banking on a strong entry at the first Grand Prix of the year in Australia. Before that comes around, Formula 1 still has several test days to get through, starting with private tests in Barcelona. For that occasion Cadillac is bringing a special livery.
Camouflaged livery
On this special test livery the names of all the founders from the United States and the United Kingdom are visible. The livery otherwise presents a monochrome look, with a geometric pattern and a large Cadillac emblem on the rear. The team is using this to obscure aerodynamic surfaces. It’s standard practice for teams to run camouflaged liveries during tests to hide aerodynamic details. Especially in 2026 — a year that has seen sweeping regulatory changes — teams can learn a lot from one another.
Mark Reuss, chairman of Cadillac’s parent company General Motors, outlined the reasoning behind the special test livery. “Our new test colours pay tribute to Detroit’s design heritage and the strength of the global Cadillac F1 team, while we keep our design secrets under wraps,” Reuss said.
