Aston Martin’s team reportedly has an edge over the competition for the 2026 season. Fuel supplier Aramco—exclusively providing fuel to the British racing team—claims to have the ‘most advanced’ fuel formula on the grid, according to multiple sources. This could give Aston Martin enough extra horsepower to offset the previously reported advantages of Mercedes and Max Verstappen, thanks to their alleged compression ratio tricks. The Formula 1 world is on the brink of new engine regulations, with significant changes to both engine and chassis rules, leaving much uncertainty about which teams will compete at the top of the grid. However, one name is increasingly mentioned: Aston Martin. This is partly due to their fuel supplier, Aramco.

According to Spanish outlet Grada3, Aramco hopes to leverage its experience with a new type of fuel—the Saudi supplier has already transitioned to synthetic fuels by 2025—in the Formula 1 arena with the Silverstone-based team. Reports suggest that Aramco has already succeeded, boasting the ‘most advanced’ fuel formula on the grid.

Compensation

Expectations are high that Aramco will provide Japanese engine manufacturer Honda—set to supply engines to Aston Martin starting in 2026—with high-quality fuel that will deliver a horsepower boost on the grid. This boost could reportedly compensate for the previously mentioned tricks that both Mercedes and Red Bull have applied to their engine compression ratios.
